http://www.abraham-quotes.com/ and...my trip to the E.R.

This is the website that I have when I open up my browser every morning. I know, I know, it should be something like.............the Wall Street Journal or at least "W" magazine, right? But no.........I really happen to like the Abraham Hicks materials -- their seminars are very inspiring. Sometimes it's difficult for me to remember to practice what they preach (smile) -- but I do try.

And I really like reading the quotes in the morning.

So, my leg is still in bad shape. What happened was, I moved my cats down to my James' house (we are engaged......we have to at least ~consider~ living together (smile)) -- and he left the door open to the room where they were "penned." This meant my most skittery cat got out -- and at 2 a.m., encountered HIS cat. BIGGGGG fight. I went out to break it up, and just as I walked out the bedroom door, they were bashing into one another -- and, as always, with my perfect timing, I walked right into the middle just as they were "crashing" together. One wrapped around my leg, wrapping his front legs and "bashing me" (like a rabbit) with his back legs. The other grabbed around the leg the other direction. Then when I reached down, of course, my arm got involved.

I was pissed and it hurt like Heck -- but I treated it with alcohol and Neosporin and thought that was that. The next day I was out all day walking (I'm a realtor, and it was "Tour" day looking at the houses that will be Open on Sunday). When I finally got home and put my feet up on the couch, my leg hurt -- but in 20 minutes it was about 3x its normal size, and was KILLING me. Hot to the touch (though too sore to touch). So I called Kaiser, and went to the E.R. -- wow, they were so efficient and great -- and wound up on an IV drip of antibiotics. After that was through and they gave me pain meds and more antibiotics, I tried to get down off the table -- no dice. My leg wouldn't support me. So I got a cane (oh, joy). My James was there by that time, shaking his head and smiling and saying things like "only you" (laugh) (My favorite memory of this whole thing was when they told me to elevate my leg, but then couldn't find the "sling" thing to do it. My James stood at the foot of the bed and cupped his hands around my heel, and raised it up and stood there until they came back a while later. The Sweetest.... :-)

Anyway -- so yesterday I was laid up, and wound up being allergic to the pain pills (or, at least, sensitive -- nausea and throwing up -- geeee my favorite) so I stopped taking those, which means I am in some serious Force-10 pain but...what can you do? The whole shin is still swollen and very nasty -- still can't touch it. Today, I have 3 things I have to do in the city -- not quite sure how this is going to work logistically. My James told me to park the car, and just take a taxi everywhere. Of course, we're only talking a 3 block radius -- I'm just not sure I can hack it. Then again, I do feel better after a shower, or after walking around a bit (ok, that would be walking with one foot, dragging the other). So maybe the walking will do me good, if I do it slowly enough!

So that's the E.R. story -- just another Day in the Life!
