Well. Today, I started on the next archaeological level of cleaning my house, in anticipation of moving and renting it out.
When I bought this house, literally, I thought "ok, I will never have to move again." That was in 1999. And I lived like it -- hence, the archaeological reference. Not that I'm a pig -- far from it -- rather, I am a collector of things, books, and such -- mostly books magazines, etc. I believe I might have posted about my dust mote-prompted week of torture, after packing the first 1/2 of my library...
Anyway, so today, one of the things that I came upon (ack) was a pile of "stuff" that included business cards to make it into Outlook, and quotes that I like. So, I'm lying on the couch, sorting -- biz cards go to the side, quotes are going to go here. Then they are forevermore in a spot where, should I want them, I can find them.
At least, that's the theory...OK here come the quotes
Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense. (Ralph Waldo Emerson)
Kites rise highest against the wind -- not with it (Sir Winston Churchill)
Some people were born on third base...and they think that they got there by hitting a triple (Ariana Huffington about the current administration)
