New Bond ( Did I say that before? Daniel Craig – a blonde Bond! – will be the new Bond for Casino Royale in November 2006. It looks like a “prequel” (Star Wars really got these going, didn’t it??) – e.g., how he started driving an Aston Martin, why he drinks a martini, etc. The book of the same name is VERY violent – it will be interesting to see what they do with it.
I’d love to see the have Sylvia Trench (who is the first woman in Dr. No, at the Baccarat table) be the “Bond grrl” for this. I can’t remember who the actual Bond grrl “was” in Casino Royale by Fleming (I guess it’s time to go check it back out of the library) – but that would “link back in” to the first film rather well.
I do remember that Bond used to drive Rolls Royces – and go the A.M. in that book … believe it was set in Monte Carlo. Wow, been a long time since I read that one. The “blurb” states that filming will be in the Czech Republic, Bahamas, Italy and, of course, Pinewood – so maybe either I’m remembering it wrong or (more likely) they are doing the usual “use the title, change the story” schtick.
I spoke to the National Speakers Association/Fasttrack group on Saturday (before crashing my car because my Bond grrl boots slipped on the brake – shoot me). I really came to realize at that point that I so want to be doing the fEmpowerment stuff on the seminar circuit. I just love the whole idea of it. Getting gals to really have fun, do the walk/talk, drive cars, shoot guns, etc. I think that it’s such a fantastic idea, and just needs a little $ behind it (I wonder if Brian B. would fund it – LOL!) I, of course, give great information on my contracts/IP/Trademarks/copyright speech – but I am not that interested in doing the work afterwards ( Oh sure, that’s sort of not right – I do like doing it – but it’s not my “passion.” I’m good at it, that’s for sure. But I need something that “floats my boat” more.
Time to get back to cleaning out 2 weeks’ worth of emails (from being at a training course for 2 weeks) – and make at least a little money.
