A little about sexuality...

Even though Bond Girls can play as rough as the boys in action films, they are NOT the overtly gender-neutral female characters that are found in many films of the Nineties and beyond (e.g., Terminator, etc.) They do not relinquish their feminine side. So their challenge is decidedly sexual. They understand the power of sex, which in itself is part of their allure. And when it comes to sex, Bond must earn his pleasure. He must rise to the challenge they present. He can’t just “take” them. They are very much women, through and through, first and foremost.

“The Bond Girls say to women, ‘Embrace your sexuality, experiment, explore, break free of the bounds of society.’ To men, the Bond women say, ‘Do not fear that a strong, confident, sexually assured woman will make you weaker. No, she will be the best thing ever to happen to you.”

-- "Bond Girls Are Forever," M. d'Abo (This is a great coffee table book, by the way)
